As a business, we are constantly looking for ways to operate as sustainably as possible. Our plan for future sustainability focuses on conservation, recycling, and planting new orchards with a focus on sustainability.

As a certified Green Business, we have:

  • Upgraded our lighting system with more efficient LED bulbs
  • Helped local growers convert from large ground sprinklers to more efficient drip and micro sprinkler irrigation
  • Increased water efficiency by 25%

New Orchards

Since 2016, we planted nearly 150 acres of apple trees in the fertile Pajaro Valley.

  • In the Spring of 2020, we planted an additional 36 acres
  • Our new orchards have been planted in a high-density format, which allows for more efficient farm practices including harvesting, pruning, and higher yields per acre
  • Planting new orchards and encouraging local agricultural endeavors are ways of moving forward as we continue to bottle our award-winning juice in the same location for over 150 years

Sustainable Growing

Owls protect our orchards and we protect them. We teamed up with the Future Farmers of America (FFA) to build owl boxes for our California orchards as a key part of sustainable farming.

  • Owl boxes are a farmer’s best defense against rodent infestation
  • The presence of these natural predators is another tool for growers to reduce rodents and is beneficial in preserving our natural environment
  • All of our owl boxes now have healthy families of barn owls nesting inside

We are committed to sustainable practices, including:

  • Making all our packaging 100% recyclable
  • Removing plastic caps on 750mL size bottles
  • Recycling all the materials used to produce our products, such as glass, plastic, and cardboard
  • Repurposing our apple juice pulp as cattle feed at a local dairy
